Akaroa, A small piece of France in New Zealand

Bonjour and welcome to a small slice of France in New Zealand.
This would have to be one of my most favourite little towns in New Zealand. Akaroa is the most French town you will ever find here. Situated on the Bank Peninsula in the Canterbury region of the South Island. About an hours scenic drive from Christchurch.

I found myself in Christchurch in late October for a charity walk. The second one for the month. Having spent the Saturday morning travelling to Christchurch and arriving in the rain. But a cold and icy southerly wind was blowing in from Antarctica. We did a bit of exploring of the central city in Christchurch and Lyttelton in the morning and into the afternoon before heading of to the half marathon charity walk.
